Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to:

This policy applies to all employees, contractors, visitors, and anyone else present in the workplace. It encompasses all areas of Tradepower operations where hazards may be present, including but not limited to construction sites, manufacturing facilities, offices, and warehouses.

 

Policy Statement

Tradepower is committed to providing appropriate PPE to all employees to protect them from workplace hazards. The following principles govern our approach to PPE:

• Hazard Assessment: A thorough hazard assessment will be conducted to identify potential risks in the workplace. Based on the assessment, appropriate PPE will be selected and provided to employees.

• PPE Selection: PPE will be selected based on the specific hazards present in the workplace and the tasks being performed. The selection process will consider factors such as the type and severity of hazards, comfort, fit, and compatibility with other protective equipment.

• Training and Education: All employees will receive training on the proper use, care, and maintenance of PPE relevant to their job duties. Training will include information on when PPE is necessary, how to properly don, doff, adjust, and wear PPE, and the limitations of PPE.

• Provision of PPE: Tradepower will provide necessary PPE to employees at no cost to them. PPE will be readily available, properly maintained, and replaced as needed to ensure effectiveness.

• Use of PPE: Employees are required to wear PPE as instructed by their supervisors and as outlined in relevant work procedures. PPE must be worn correctly and consistently in areas where hazards are present.

• Maintenance and Inspection: Employees are responsible for inspecting their PPE before each use and reporting any defects or damage to their supervisor. Supervisors will ensure that PPE is properly maintained, repaired, and replaced as needed.

• Compliance: Failure to comply with this policy and associated procedures may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

 

Responsibilities

• Management: Management is responsible for conducting hazard assessments, providing appropriate PPE, ensuring compliance with this policy, and fostering a culture of safety within the organization.

• Supervisors: Supervisors are responsible for enforcing PPE requirements, providing training and guidance to employees, conducting regular inspections, and addressing any issues related to PPE use.

• Employees: Employees are responsible for wearing PPE as required, participating in training programs, properly maintaining their PPE, and reporting any concerns or deficiencies to their supervisor.

 

Review and Revision

This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure its effectiveness and relevance. Any necessary revisions will be made in consultation with relevant stakeholders and communicated to all employees.
